Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire - Sewer Dragon

These are some early sketch ideas for the Sewer Dragon in Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, done within the Framestore Art Department. For the Sewer Dragon, I opted for quick sketches to get a wide range of ideas within the bounds of the brief, such as the visible skeleton, the eel-like feel of the design, and the elongated tube-like body. In the end, the final creature felt like an amalgamation of all the visual ideas that were explored in the sketches. It is often a huge part of our process to be able to rapidly iterate many different ideas through sketch form before committing to the more commonly seen polished artworks we create.
