Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire - Garraka

This was an early design exploration for Garraka in Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, from within the Framestore Art Department. This was an enigmatic process as the brief was to read the passages from the screenplay, and give an interpretation of it without too much sway or influence from the client. I opted to include some of the cultural references made in the film to his costume, while exploring the different states he could be shown in, which ranged from strong human form, to a more monstrous looking skeletal form. This was a quick way to throw design ideas into the mix quite early on in the process. The image was made using a mixture of 3d for the main figure, and 2d painting/photobashing to bring it together.
