Here are some examples of my contributions to the interior elements for the Aether ship in The Midnight Sky. While on set at Shepperton Studios, my main objective was to help design and build the exterior of the ship, but I was delighted to be able to contribute to some interior elements. The framework was 6 axis printed and used as the exoskeleton of the entire main pod which was used on the set pieces (it was huge! I believe it needed to be printed in roughly 60-70 pieces which were then plastered over). The ladder and “dumb waiter” system was an initial prototype but eventually replaced with a simpler design to accommodate a paired down aesthetic and practical build cost. I also helped do a quick model for the private pod bedroom which was 3D printed in 2 pieces which was the first piece of work I did I could physically stand in, as so much of my work is purely digital. I’ve included some on-set photos to show the end result. All created in Blender 3D.
